HP Provides Early AirPrint Upgrade for 6 More Printers

2:25 AM by Mr. Shahan · 0 comments

Owners of 6 more HP printer models can avail themselves of direct wireless printing from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 4.2 through AirPrint, thanks to an early release of a firmware upgrade, which hadn't been expected until December 27, by HP. They join a group of other HP printers and MFPs that became compatible with Airprint at iOS 4.2's launch in late November as the only AirPrint-compatible printers now on the market.
The new models include the HP Officejet 6500A e-All-in-One, the HP OfficeJet 6500A Plus e-All-in-One ($199.99 direct, 4 stars), the OfficeJet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One ($299 direct, 4 stars), the HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One, the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (currently under review), and the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium e-All-in-One. The 6500A Plus and the 7500A are both PCMag Editors' Choice products.

They join AirPrint-compatible printers from the first wave such as the Editors' Choice HP Photosmart eStation, the HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One, the HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One, HP Photosmart e-All-in-One, HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One, HP ENVY 100 e-All-in-One, the HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf, the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415f , and the LaserJet Pro CP1525.
